Site Maintenance

Just got an e-mail from my webhosting company.

Dear Tristan Pipo,

This notice is to inform you of a scheduled software upgrade for tonight at 1:00 a.m. EST (Friday, December 23); we will be upgrading MySQL to version 4.1 as per the request of our customers. The upgrade process has been fully tested to ensure that there will not be any complications or compatibility issues, and as an added precaution we will be performing a complete backup of all databases before proceeding with the upgrade.

The upgrade will take anywhere between 2 to 5 hours to complete, depending on the version of MySQL currently installed. During the time of the upgrade both MySQL and the Ensim control panel will be unavailable, although the Apache web server will continue to operate, and your web site will remain online.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation, and we hope that you will enjoy the new upgraded MySQL version.

Yours truly,

Joseph Buaron
Chief Executive Officer
Future Point Inc.

I wonder how much data traffic monitoring I will lose during the downtime. But this shouldn’t effect anything I have running. The SQL Databases I have are for running the podcast feed. The test polling software I have running but haven’t implemented. And the RSS Feeds I have incoming. So again no downtime for the visitors but my backup scheme will go hawire so some erros might popup.
