Inspiration from Single Ladies and Online Comics

I had a real comedy peace I was working on that was inspired by a web comic. I thought I would dive into the online meat market of craigslist since it was well free. I wanted to see what I could get away with to get a reply from some of the seattle area girls and women. But I didn’t get any response from any of my comedy subjects.

So these were the 4 listings that I was going to start off with. But one kinda turned me away because it seemed like someone I knew and had dated before. But I wrote a customized e-mail to tailor the ads but I tried to make them as crazy as possible. I only picked ads that had pictures.

I started off each response “Your Epidermis Type armor for your meat shell is pleasing” I was pondering what the thought would be had I been a woman and got that response. But the total guess was that I would be a cyborg like human. But sadly my attempt at providing some humor has failed since no woman would even take the time to respond.

Has humor failed again in society? Am I jerk off for trying such a thing? Who knows! Anyways happy Friday Everyone! So to the ladies without a name if you took the time to read the e-mail thanks. If you didn’t well hmm.

Finding a Mate is hard. I shouldn’t make a mockery of the process since I haven’t found one yet either. But still life is way to short to be serious and I admire the ladies for getting out there to show themseleves online. Cheers to you all. Best of luck.

Tristan- Please forgive me but I have to say something snarky since you put my craigslist ad on your website… doesnt dating a person usually entail more than one date and platonic emails?  Happy Beer Friday!! Have a diet coke for me!!

    Humorous man a dying breed... Sometimes humor comes off as creepy if you don't know the person's sense of humor... every girl loves a funny guy so mayb you will get a belated e-mail returned. I like the sweet punk girl... tattoos and piercings!
  • OK, I mean your previous commenter is incorrect in saying she's crazy. She's not crazy. I used a double-negative in that sentence.
  • Hmmm...WELL. I don't know if this will qualify as something interesting, but of course I do have an opinion.

    First of all, I do think even one date will qualify as "dated." I have often done this myself, such as "Yeah, we dated briefly," even if that means only twice.

    Having said that, I do not think your previous commenter is incorrect in saying that the girl is a "crazy chick." I thought her comment was funny and not at all pissy. She said she was going to be snarky, but in fact wasn't at all. She even said "Happy Beer Friday," as a peace offering.

    I actually would have expected something snarkier since you did put her craigslist ad on your site. I mean, obviously she put herself out there on the internet, but I don't know how I'd feel if someone linked me like that. So I give her props for keeping her cool, even if I disagree with her definition of "dated." :)

    Hey Tristan. I think if I were to have gotten that type of response, I would have gotten a kick out of it. Shoot...I don't get very good responses. I get all the dirty ones, at least, it seems that way. Anyway, Happy Beer Friday! Have a Pint for me!

    I think that chicks' got issues. A date is a date meaning that if you go on one date than that means you have dated that person. Just like my manager. If he comes to me at say 3:02PM when I was supposed to leave at 3:00 and says 'Hey can you maybe stay a little longer', and than during that hour that I was not even supposed to be here and he tells me that I should start doing other peoples work, not that I mind since I'm a nice guy and all....but seriously, and that I'm not doing my job right, even though I've been here longer than him and know how to do his job better than him. Wait, where was I, right the whole staying later thing. So, if he asks me to stay later and then gives me more work when I wasn't even supposed to be here that means he is screwing me. Tomorrow I will say that I was screwed by my boss. 'SCREWED' does not imply more than once it could mean that have been screwed multiple times by this person or it could mean that I have been only screwed once, either way I have still been screwed. Therefore even though crazy chick is getting pissy because your saying you only went on a date with her once so that doesn't mean you actually dated her , she is still nuts and doesn't comprehend basic english. If your going out alone with someone of the opposite sex that you have feelings for than you are going on a date. When you are on said date and until you break it off with them you are currently dating said person. Than once you have stopped dating and decide to go your separate ways than you have dated that person. It doesn't matter if that was one date or a hundred dates, if you have been on a date with someone than you have dated that person. I am not saying that I am the smartest person in the world however if you cannot understand basic concepts of the english language than you need some serious help.
  • Upon further discussion with some coworkers on this e-mail we have decided that the way it was stated above is correct. And that ummm the woman is somewhat correct.

    I am sure Junniper will come down on me and beat the words into something interesting.
  • Okay further research into this has shown that dated is the past tense of date. But can also mean plural. I was using it as the dated. Since it is easier to type dated instead of went on a date and exchanged e-mails.

    So not sure what to make of it all.
