Gas Prices

Well today my car was low on gas and I was forced to go to this one gas station and the cost of regular was $2.41 9/10 a gallon. You can't make a # a capital but if I would I would just to show my anger in this price. Why is gas so much Gas Prices Explanation I thought this whole war on terror in Iraq was to basically go in and steal IRAQ's gas. But I haven't checked the news recently. But with sources such as hydrogen or even vegetable oil to power a car why are we not going this way so mainstream. California has 6 Hydrogen Fuel Centers. But the main reason I can find is the oil companies and the car companies have some sorta deal worked out so that those types of technologies are not coming around yet. There is no money gain for the oil companies if we all switch to hyrdogen. Hyrdogen Engine Shows that it can be done on a fairly simple way but if we move to an alternative source of energy a lot of people would lose a lot of money and companies like Exxon, Texaco, BP would pretty much be phased away.

Everything in the world boils down to money. Plus people want powerful cars and cars that run on an alternative fuel source are not as powerful as a gasoline driven car. But anyways I was just pissed about having to pay $27 to fill up my tank at $2.41 a gallon. Bah I contacted a friend in Minnesota and she said gas was $2.19 a gallon. I remember when gas was under a dollar a few years ago.

Oh well rant over.

Oh I know how you feel Tristan. I just paid the same amount about 3 days ago. A friend of mine in CA pays 2.80 for Premium gas, so he ends up filling his tanks for 50 bucks a pop. I guess in a way we can be glad we don't live in CA...

I just payed 2.63/gallon. Of course the government wants to keep gasoline too. They get 21%, which is a lot of money.

I brought this very topic up with a science professor at OC. Back in the day, they were starting to produce these fuel efficient cars. They had the technology to do it (still do) but the gas companies have such a grip on the auto industry. It's sick. I think they should totally make cars electric. All of them. If the demand for the gas consumption decreases, they will be forced to lower the price. Ya know, that whole supply and demand. Not to mention gas ISN'T an endless resource. We are going to run out eventually... why not start phasing gas out now??

It could be worse... it could be $6 like in europe.

Here where I live it has maintained at about $2.09 for a long time now and occassionally dropped to $2.05. It didn't seem that long ago when my girlfriend then and now wife, took a trip to see my dad down in FLA and I think the lowest price I have ever paid for gas in my life was in columbus Indiana @ .35 cents per. gallon and that was back in '98. A lot has changed since then and people need to fight the gouging that big oil is tagging us with. I put a pg. together for people who need to offset the gas expeditures and receive a cash back or rebate on future purchases like from hess or whatever.
gas cards I hope people will find it useful to apply, get one and use it religiously and reduce their gas expeditures by 5-10% annually. I am starting to see $20 checks already come into my mailbox so it is working.
