I love being a Mac User
As most people know and by the button over on the right side of the page I am a Mac User. Windows is just a clunky world I can never get to work correctly. I tend to be very multi task oriented and features that save my ass that I am so used to on Mac like Expose I press F9 I can see all my windows at once. I hooked up my Microsoft Mouse and I assigned that to a button and I feel like I can get stuff done so much faster without having to search through a taskbar of what is where and how do I get to that. I have yet to see, read or use anything like Expose on a Windows Machine.
Most people are like Macs They Suck. I got my Mac last september. I have yet to find anything I can't do on my Mac. Except for games. But I am not really a huge gamer. I have a PC for games but I don't really use it for much else. I use it for Seti@Home and Visio on occasion. But I just can't stand Windows.
Finding stuff is so much easier on a Mac. Spotlight is awesome once you give it a few little updates. It doesn't search word documents by default but there is a spotlight plugin you can get to do that. But I was taking notes in my Linux Development Class. I called the document week9notes.doc and I try to put everything school related in the school folder. But I forgot to. Spotlight found it in two seconds. And I put it in the right place. I have yet to see Windows search that fast.
Ohh but Tristan we have MSN and Google Desktop search I don't want to install a 3rd Party program to get done what is built into the OS. But Vista will have this Yes Vista will have this but they were also supposed to have the new WinFS file system for this reason. WinFS was a cool idea since it was basically the next version of NTFS File System with some SQL backgroun in the file system. But they won't have this until Windows Vista Server comes out codenamed Blackcomb. And from the videos of Vista Search I have seen it doesn't look nearly as elegant or as Fast as Mac OS X Spotlight in Tiger.
.
There is some software on PC that compares to Mac. There is Picasa from Google to organize your photo's but it doesn't have the speed or elegance that iPhoto has. iPhoto I can do so much I can edit every piece of color information on the photo. I can take my photos export them to iDVD and have a DVD slideshow in virtually 5 clicks. I can send them to iMovie and do even more with them. This just isn't possible on a PC from my experience.
I use iChat for my AIM chat client. I sit down at Windows and open up AIM and I have to sit here and decode who belongs to what SN. Well for example we shall make up the screenname KillerBootsChick77983 I have no idea who that is. Cause back in the day I opened up address book and set that SN to the persons real name. I get their email address and if I get an e-mail from that person I see their real name instead of whatever stupid hot craze they pick for this month as a e-mail Name. And I can see from Mail if they are online on iChat.
Windows I have to download all these stupid 3rd Party Apps to get this accomplished. And AIM has ads I don't want to see Ashley Simpson scrolling across my Buddy List. Also the comic book bubble style chats in IChat is great. And the font overide is just heavenly. All I see is Verdana size 10 Font. And if they increase the size to show yelling it shows up as Bold.
Also spell check is built into virtually everything. It's built into iChat, Mail, Adium, Safari, Dictionary, Skype, iPhoto, iMove, iDVD.
I will never understand why people bash Macs. Yes they are Pricey but it's well worth it. I try to use windows and it's just clunky. I love how I can open up a terminal and run commands I run in Linux and just make my life so much easier. I guess Windows in Blackcomb will have something comparable but I guess they are removing because it was a security problem. Suprise Suprise. Windows is full of security problems. People who use IE I will never understand those users. Firefox is where it's at people. It's a secure, free, fast browser. I use it on my Mac when Safari can't view a page. Mostly those MySpace Idiots with all their custom fonts and colors and backgrouns and videos and music that are just annoying as hell. And people think MySpace is so great. I view myspace as a giant collection of people trying to boost their Ego's by going and commenting on how nice their hair looks. But I guess I seek that same idea on this blog. But I don't really find anything about my blog annoying and it doesn't crash people's browsers. I do get comments that the white text on black background can be a bit hard on the eyes. But I do have an Atom and a RSS Feed for users that want to take my Blog and dock it up how they see fit.
I just can't see Windows ever coming up with something as pleasant to use or easy to manipulate and navigate as OS X. I feel mostly pity for people who bash Macs. They have never even used a Mac and they bash it. I remember playing Super Mario All Stars over SNES Emulation on my Mac. Some guy was like oh is that the latest thing for Mac? I laughed on the inside.
I think most Windows Hardcore users tend to have a one focus mind and Mac users can just think on multiple levels and they can get stuff done. Then we have users like Preston's girlfriend who just use it cause she likes how it can change the background picture every 30 seconds to different broadway shows. My background is a Giant Metallic X with Mac OS X on the left side of the X and on the right it says Tiger.
But anyways =)

I SAY:
SO WHERE IS YOUR MYSPACE????
I have posted my Myspace link here a few times. If your to lazy to find it well then tough luck. =p
why don't you fucking post it again you asshole!!
Dave I thought I told you to go away. You return to cause this kind of drama again.
If you are to lazy to take the time to read an archive. Then that's your issue I think you just don't want to dig because you will see what a low life moron you are.
To this comment I predict you will drop the F Bomb and show your lack brain power to come with something worth reading.
So if you are unwilling to take the time to do anything why should I offer this to you. Now please move on with your life since mine has nothing to do with yours and I don't talk about you on my blog or other various sites that I have my hand in creating.
First off, let me agree with Tristan by saying "Dave, or Anonymous, no one wants to hear your vulgar laguage awesome guy bashing critique. So leave it at home, or take your weak sauce somewhere else."
Tristan. Whats up bro. Great article. Everytime I read one of your articles about a Mac, it makes me think even harder about getting one. Lets full in the rest of the crowd, shall we?
I am a "Hardcore" PC user, with room for convincing. I have been very good friends with Tristan for going on 12 years now. Up until about two years ago, Tristan was also, a "Hardcore" PC user with room for convincing" So how could someone like Tristan, who has only been using Mac for two years, all of a sudden become a PC bashing, Mac addict? Does Mac really have that much power over someone? Are Macs....really...that...awesome? The answer....Yes. Then "Why?" you ask. "Why are you still a Hardcore PC User, Preston?" The answer is simple. Im brainwashed...and so are you. Yes, im talking to you. So stop...stop right now....well finish this comment first...then stop. Shut down your PC. Take your hand off your mouse, and remove yourself from your chair. Proceed to the nearest Mac Outlet Store, and buy yourself a piece of god.
Thank you Tristan. Thank you for helping me to see the light.

ok, make fun of our OS, but don't start attacking us. it's not called for, and it's just plain offensive.
From what i understand about "Expose" and my knowledge of the hotkeys that windows has, both OS have the same ability to multitask. just like ANY OS you have to learn how in order to be effective at it. personally, i'm skilled with hiting Alt+Tab and WIN+D, and i don't find a need to live in your "iLife" with a cookie cutter machine like all your peers. I think it's perfectly understandable to prefer 3rd party apps, nothing wrong with em. for instance Nero is just as good as Toast. The best part about it all, is that my custom built PC is just as good or better than anything else out there for the price that i paid for parts, including your mac(though a good part of that is from the hardcore gamer standpoint)
Not that i say this to piss you all off, but your blog seemed a little one sided, figured i'd give a little response. oh. and btw. you have a very nice mouse. i probably use the same one as you.
